      Me and my brother have two raspberry 3b+ and retropie installed. Both are up to date and amiberry installed. Mine can run amiga games by amiberry, my brother's retropie stuck on start screen when it says press a to configure and i have cursor left up on screen (black screen and this window with press a to configure) and all games won't run. Even adf. Fews ago it was working, I installed only updates retropie.

      I reinstalled amiberry from sources, binary, deleted some configs file from /opt/... and doesn't help.

      How can I fix it?

        Kindly read this and start from there... we need more info on your build. Thanks.

        Saying you deleted "some config files from /opt/..." is pretty vague.

          Retropie 4.8.2 9dc632ae
          Amiberry 5.4 build date 2022-10-05 19:02, installed as binary this time.

          I deleted files from /opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry:
          dirs: whdboot, conf

          also deleted:

          /opt/retropie/configs/amiga/whdboot
          dirs: game-data and whdboot, boot-data.zip

          This won't help. Even I try it to copy from my raspberry, where amiberry works and won't help.

            @martinex Thanks for reporting. I have to say I don't understand why you keep on deleting files and directories. Those are here for a reason ;-)

            Retropie makes it easy for users to install old systems and to enjoy them. All you need to do is to copy the roms/games to the respective directory and in the case of Amiga, you have to copy the "bios" files too (known as KickStart roms).

            Please remove Amiberry from Retropie-Setup. Then install it again (either from binary or from source, doesn't matter). All left to do is to copy the KickStart roms to Retropie/bios/amiga/ and some .lha (recommended games "format") to Retropie/roms/amiga/. That's all!

            You only need to copy the 3 KickStart roms with little checkmark next to it. Please ensure you have same files as listed on the page. Don't touch anything else, really.

            Lastly and just in case, edit emulators.cfg found under Retropie/configs/amiga. You must have those lines in there (with a bunch of other):

            amiberry = "/opt/retropie/emulators/amiberry/amiberry.sh %ROM%"
            default = "amiberry"

            Hope this helps.

              @nemo93 said in Amiberry can't run any games, stuck on black screen.:

              and some .lha (recommended games format)

              Ain't that something Pratchett would have called a "Lie to Children"? LHA is, alike to zip or rar, a compression algorythm/format and AFAIK mostly/purely used (in context of emulators) for WHDLoad Packages. From a retropie user POV that difference between container/compression format and "game"/"rom" may be irrelevant, but somehow (as a long time amiga owner/user) I find it saddening whenever lha seem to be reduced to some form of game-image format (especially if mentioning WHDLoad would be more appropriate) instead of being honoured for the great compression format that it once was ;]

                Did the advice nemo gave work for you? Amiberry and lr-puae2021 are very easy to set up. It's all about the Kickstart roms, where they go and what they're named. Even the latest Amiberry release made it easier with using names like kick31, kick30...etc.

                Just wanted to know if any of that helped. Like he said, there is no need to delete anything. Most of the files don't auto rebuild until you reload the emulator. The retroarch.cfg file in each of the respective elumlator config folders will, but that's it and truthfully, I wouldn't delete that unless there is a total mess.

                  Did the op get this fixed? This happened to me and it was (doh) because I'd just moved everything over to a new flash drive but I'd forgotten to copy the kickstarts across...

                  This does sound like a kickstart issue - either the required files aren't there or they're named wrong.
