Having an issue with USB encoders and detecting X and Y inputs (SJ@JX amazon arcade buttons)(SOLVED)
-
Hello all,
I've purchased a few arcade buttons and joystick setups for custom arcade builds on the past. This time around I bought one from Amazon (SJ@JX led game control boards). It came with zero instructions but pretty simple looking for setup. I plug everything in, all buttons work light up, but when configuring the controller in retropie anything plugged into the X or Y slots does not register. The config page stays on X, until i skip it out use another button (which does work). I'm at a loss for what to check at this point. Any help would be appreciated! .- I have changed the buttons, the cables and sd card (the second one had another image of retropie, same issue).
- This problem is consistent on the second usb controller (player 2).

Replying so that anyone with the same issue can find the solution. These boards have two modes and a slot that says "MOCE". I had to plug an additional button into that slot (one for each board) and click the button after EVERY boot to switch into the other mode. The amazon seller replied to my questions with this (I have NOT tried this as of yet):

Hello there,
You can directly access the link,
Connect to the computer to upgrade the coding board.
In this version. You press the clear button.
The joystick will switch between Dinput/Xinput -
For what it's worth, I bought one of these SJ@JX controllers on alix, and it wasn't detecting as a USB gamepad (or wasn't working at all).
I download and ran the .exe that @bryantjblair shared and it's now working and detecting as I'd expect.
