Kodi version is out-of-date

Hi,
Can the Kodi port in RetroPie be updated so that it uses the official binary source? The one that RetroPie uses by default hasn't been updated in a long time. I'm not too sure about what the official binary source is but I'm pretty sure it's https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc. It probably says what it is somewhere on Kodi's website (kodi.tv). Thank you. -
I think Kodi version is tighed with the PI Os Lite version. Not much we can do But the current version is playing all the media without issue's...

I think a Kodi port is very hard for Debian Buster. But I do some ports for Kodi 18.x ... like kodi-pvr-zattoo, kodi-pvr-waipu. Coz I wanted to watch german live tv on zattoo and waipu ...
