GPIO joysticks are randomly stopping when system has been on for a short while.

Hello,
I seem to be having an issue where I have two GPIO joystick/button combos connected to my raspberry pi 3 b+ for my arcade unit and they will randomly stop working when the system has been on for a short while. Sometimes this seems to happen after running a game for a little while or after a screensaver appears, or just randomly stops working in the main menu.
If anyone could please help with this situation it would be great. Thank you.

Please add some info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
What drivers are you using the the GPIO controllers ?

@mitu I seemed to have fixed the issue. The games I had almost entirely filled the size of the USB I had. I changed to a larger USB and the issue does not seem to happen at all anymore.

@UndeadSoul That sounds like you have some sort of log/error log that is building up to a large file while you run the system. That seems like something you should look into.

@Thorr69 could you elaborate on what file that would be? When I had used a 16gb USB, the romset I had totalled almost 16GB and it seemed to have been causing issues until I swapped to a larger capacity USB so I doubt it would have been a log file issue?
