      Both my Pi4 and Pi5 stopped recognizing USB sticks after an update I did a few days ago!
      After updating the setup script and main core, they are not recognized even after rebooting
      https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/
      I have followed this and re-configured the settings, but nothing has changed.

        Same problem.
        After recent updates, external HDD with retropie-mount doesn't mount and nothing (except settings) shows on emulationstation.

          Same issue here. I updated setup-script today on my Pi 5, tried to update retroarch and my entire external hard drive seems to not be recognized. I even tried to re-enable USB Rom Service and that didn't work.

          So I guess I'll revert back to my old version until this obvious bug in the latest setup script gets fixed.

            It was a bug that the devs fixed. Update retropie-setup script to fetch the latest version and reinstall the usbromservice package.

                        @sugarfree THANK YOU!
                        this is solved

                        never would have thought updating the retro-pie set up script was how I lost the external drive loading.
                        i got busy for a few days, was wondering what to do, this am I was able to get on the forum, seen others having same issue after the update of set up script, then remembered "I did that too!" I seen it's been fixed and re did the update, now i have the drive loading again.

                        thanks for taking the time and adding this info!
                        also thanks to all others who commented advice

                        SOLVED!!
