PS1 games that have bugs in retropie

I notice on Crash Bash. The pause menu is invisible. I.e. when you hit start to pause a game only the menu boarder is there. Everything else isn't. You can still scroll up and down the menu and hear the game moving over menu items. So can still quit, restart, etc. if you know where they are.

This is listed to the document, that is linked in this topic.

Quake 2 runs until mid-second level. There are graphical glitches galore after that and it's completely unplayable. I tried a PBP file, bin/cue files all have the same result.
Couldn't you just download Quake/Quake II on the system it self to play the PC version anyways?
-
Is Quake 2 available for direct download (not via PS1) and can it be set to use the controller (Xin-Mo)?
-
@dd-indeed Where abouts sorry? Cant't see anything linked in the first post.
-
Digimon World plays with sound issues, delayed sound and no music.
-
I have tested and have passed in psx emu the FFIX and Chrono Cross titles and working great both through Retropie 4.2 version

@dd-indeed So help me out here, the documentation seems to state the file name needs to be SCPH1001.BIN but it seems that by what you're saying, that could be a newer BIOS but just renamed to SCPH1001.BIN? Right now I'm sure my file is the original SCPH1001.BIN one and not a newer one. Any suggestions on which one to try or just go with the newest PSX BIOS I can find and rename it to SCPH1001.BIN?
-
@tropez You could try to find out your md5 value to compare what file you actually have to what is listed on this page: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/
-
I have the latest bios, that is from PSOne, and it's the SCPH101.BIN, missing one zero from it. And you need to get that, it's not enough, that you just use the SCPH1001 and remove that one zero out of it.
-
Is it just me or does the later PS1 titles have more issues than the older ones from the 90's ?
-
X-Com: UFO Defense will cycle the whole into then crash after that.
I tried with bin/cue, iso, mdf, and bpb file. Same behavior on the PC as well as the Rasp Pi. All files work without problem in another emulator. (epsxe) -
@dd-indeed absolutely they do, systems and code were much simpler back then.
-
Someone else should try In Cold Blood. No matter what I try or what image I use, fps counters shows 60 fps all the time, but the game runs something like 20 fps.

hey @DD-Indeed please have a look at my post here you should deactivate an option to get fullspeed emulation.

Doesn't even run.which region? USA runs fine for me, you should try a different rom and verify the dump against the redump.org database.
emu: lr-pcsx-rearmed
BIOS: SCPH1001.BIN -
Mine is the USA version and I dumped it straight from the disc. But then again, I tried this a long time ago, so it might have changed. I just stumbled into this thread today, so I tried to be helpful and I posted my comment.
