      I can't seem to get my hotkeys on my 360 controller to work. They work on the keyboard but not the controller. Oddly, I can't get the options menu to show up in the emulators either by pressing F1. What do I need to change to get this working in version 4.02?

        I also wanted to add that if I am using the Xbox controller in any emulator the controller works but not the hotkeys on the controller. If I hit the buttons for start and select on my keyboard it will exit the game.

          Hey @bassman6805

          Have a look at this thread, it has my Xbox 360 configurations:
          https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/2098/issues-configuring-retroarch-for-my-handheld/3

          Also if you wanted to use the "Guide" button (10) instead of the Select button (8) as the Hotkey:

          # Hotkey button
          input_enable_hotkey_btn = 10 #Guide

          Using the Guide button works better in games like Metroid when you need to tap the Select button a lot.

            I noticed on your config it says the hotkey is button 8? I am not able to check mine at the moment but I am pretty sure it is button 6. If button 8 is select then what is button 6?

              I'm using the xpad driver (and not the xboxdrv because I don't want to downgrade my kernel)

              You can find out what number represents which button on your controller by running jstest

              From the command prompt run jstest /dev/input/js0 or whatever number instead of 0 that your controller is using and then just start testing buttons on your controller and the number onscreen that corresponds to the button pressed will say On or something like that. Press Ctrl+C to end jstest.

              If when you press the Select button and you see the On next to the number 6, than number 6 = Select ;-)

                I got it working. I had a couple lines added in the config file that I did when I was trying to get my wiimote working. I just commented them out and it started working. I haven't tried to see if the wiimote still works after making the change. When I was trying to get it to work I changed and added quite a bit of stuff so hopefully it isn't needed.
