Black screen bootup (Raspberry Pi 2 B)
-
Hey,
I downloaded and install the image following the installation instruction on my Raspberry Pi 2 B (Win32DiskImager etc..), and when I boot, I got a blackscreen.
I tried to change the video output in the config file but I still got this blackscreen. I was afraid that my Raspberry Pi got hardware output problems but I tried to install Raspbian and it worked like a charm.
Why the image is broken on my Pi 2 B? Do you have any solution? I tried to install Retropie on top of Raspbian, it works exept that my 360 controller is messed up when I configure it, I tried to modify files to make it works but it's not so easy to understand so I'm lost.
Could you give me any solution? Either reinstall a proper image and make it work or help me with this controller configuration..! :D

Hey @FonograF !
What steps have you tried to get your Xbox 360 controller working?Did you know if you're using the Xpad or Xboxdrv driver?
RetroPie-Setup Script -> Manage Packages -> Manage Driver PackagesI originally followed the directions from this site to get mine working:

Thank for your answer @backstander
This is exactly what I did, but this isn't working at all. I have to presse on stick to go left and right, a shoulder is the start button... This is non-sense... ^^
I need help. :/edit: well, i installed xboxdrv instead of Xpad and it worked like a charm... What's the current problem with xboxdrv?
I have one more small issue: When i'm configuring my pad in emulation station, I got a problem with left and right shoulders. When I press on the left shoulder, it seems to act like the fact i release the Left Shoulder as a button so it skip the configuration of the Right Shoulder. Anything I could do about that?

When you say "shoulder" buttons do you mean "trigger" buttons? Trigger buttons are the back left & right buttons that kinda look like gun triggers. The front left & right buttons like what's on the SNES controller are shoulder buttons (I actually think they are called "bumper" buttons on the 360 controller).
The Xboxdrv doesn't work with the latest kernel so you can downgrade your kernel to get it to work.
The xpad driver has a special trigger patch that fixes those left and right trigger buttons to work with EmulationStation but breaks support for Kodi.
