Topic. Obliviously playing Suikoden 1, I was expecting to be able to transfer my data over to Suikoden 2 after beating it. Then the moment of discovery came when it didn't find the Suikoden 1 save file, which brings us to the technicalities of how pcsx-rearmed handles its virtual memory cards.

Is it such that every game has its "own" memory card, rather than how the real thing worked, with every game essentially sharing the same 2 cards? Naturally, if this is the case, I suppose the answer that I'm looking for is "no", it's not gonna be possible to transfer data between games since they don't share the memory card, thus making it impossible for Suikoden 2 to see/recognize the first game's save file. If that is the case, anyone know a way around that?

Maybe I am wrong but you can try this: You can find the save file (extension .srm) next to your rom. So when the rom is "suikoden1.cue" then there should be now also "suikoden1.srm". I guess you also have a file "suikoden2.cue". So you might try to copy "suikoden1.srm" to "suikoden2.srm" and see what happens if you launch suikoden2. It might be a stupid idea in the first place ^^

Indeed I first thought it sounded pretty far-fetched but at this point I'm willing to give anything a shot. I'm still fresh out of ideas myself... Will report back once I've tried it.

@hapanpappa Does the music in the opening cutscene of Suikoden 2 stutter for you as well?

Haha, it actually worked! I was skeptical for a bit because it felt a bit too straightforward a solution, but then again, I guess it did make logical sense... sometimes the solution is far simpler than you'd think. Thanks for sharing the idea, so matter how stupid it initially felt.

@Machtroid Nope, not getting any stutter here. I've been pretty lucky with things like that thus far, only getting stuttering when something happens in a game that demands a lot from the CPU, such as flashy animation sequences and whatnot.

@vbs I see what you are saying. Easy and simple instructions. Only thing is for me is I have the "suikoden.bin" and "Suikoden.cue" but, there is no "suikoden.srm" anywhere on my PC. So how do I create those files or even locate them in retroarch? I been trying to figure something out but I am out of ideas. I am using Retroarch version 1.8.1 with the "PCSX ReARMed" and I also have the "Enable Second Memory Card (Shared) toggled on. Still nothing. What am I missing? I know this is a reply that's years from the OP but if you see this or anyone else does the help would be greatly appreciated
