How can I configure the shaders discussed here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/897/updated-crt-pi-shader/20

to be enabled on my MAME emulator?

Sorry if it's a dumb question but I am trying to figure this out...

      Thanks!

It was my understanding that the lr emulators were based on retroarch. But let's say I want to use the lr-imame4all emulator...

@johnes Not all of the mame emulators that come with RetroPie are libretro cores.
If you post more info you will get more accurate help:

                Pi: Model 3
                RetroPie Version Used: 4.0.2
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
                USB Devices connected: xin mo
                Controller used: xin mo
                Error messages received:
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable)
                MAME4ALL-Pi
                lr-imame4all

I have the .375b romset, and have't figured out if MAME4ALL-Pi
                or lr-imame4all is better...

So if that helps narrow down, awesome. If not, let me know what else you need.

Broadly speaking if you have a Pi3 the mame-2003 emulator is a good bet with the 0.78 romsets.
If you want to stick with the 0.375b then I'd use lr-imame4all - not least because it will allow all the Retroarch functionality as well as easier controller file config.

If you just want to enable a shader (including the one mentioned in the thread you list above), I would strongly recommend using the inbuilt configuration editor:
                    https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Configuration-Editor

Please read the Docs before asking a new question.
