      Hello!

I just registered to this forum, as I have been searching for answer to my problems for quite a long time, yet I couldn't find any adequate answer.
I will say a word about games first. I installed a few roms for NES, but half of them seem to disappeared. All of them were transfered via the USB stick. I discovered lately that these games haven't disappeared but actually just don't work anymore. I accessed the nes roms directory and they are still there. When I try to run them directly from the directory, errors like that show up:

"cannot execute binary file: Exec format error"

And yes, I was able to run them before. All of a sudden, they broke down. Probably after the first system shutdown. I tried to reboot the system,

My second problem - the internet. I seem to be connected to the internet. When I enter the Wi-Fi configuration, it shows my IP address and the name of my router. In fact, I cannot download any theme for Emulation Station. (in the logs it shows the fatal error, and that it was unable to connect to the github site) I can't use a scraper, can't update retropie. Just no internet connection.

I would be glad if anyone here could help me. I appreciate any positive input!

What version of RetroPie are you running? What hardware are you running it on? How are you connecting to the roms directory to see your games? What directory are they in?

You can't run a rom just by clicking on it or typing the file name in the terminal.

Well, the version is 3.8.1. I am running it on Raspberry Pi 3. To access my games I enter it through the File Manager in Retropie Menu. It's in Retropie/roms/nes directory. When I click enter while being in that directory, it tries to open the file.

EDIT: Often I can't even access my router. It doesn't show up on the available connections list but when it does, it doesn't work anyway.

As I said before, you can't run a game by selecting it in the file manager, you need to start it from EmulationStation.

If you can't access your Wifi, that sounds like there could be an issue with credentials, or your infrastructure, or even proximity to the router, there are too many things to list.

If games used to work but now don't it sounds like there could be some file corruption going on. I'm not sure how you're powering or shutting down the Pi, but if the files are corrupt it might be easiest to just reformat the card and put on the latest version of RetroPie. You'll have to set things up again, but it sounds like your install wasn't ever totally right to begin with.

Yeah, I'll probably go with the complete reinstall. I think I power the Pi correctly. (powering up by connecting the Pi to the Power Supply and shutting it down directly from the Emulation Station) Thanks for the help anyway! At least it gave me the clue for what might have happened.

EDIT: Yes, the reinstall did its job. I connected to the internet with no problems! I wonder what was the cause... Thanks a lot!
