I'll admit, I'm still the new kid on the block here. But things were finally getting configured and working the way I liked. Then I noticed my RetroAchievments listings for the games I was playing were showing up with just their Titles, and the Details were missing. They weren't really "missing", more like "broken". It shows their titles and whether or not they're unlocked. But when you click on them to read the details, all it does is show you the description of the 1st achievement still to be unlocked, no matter which one you pick. I've got an open ticket going on over at RetroArch about the achievements issues I've been having even before I got involved with trying to get RetroPie working. So I've been following up over there. Now it seems there is an update to RetroPie. I followed the instructions on the NEWS page, that I should update the setup scripts, and then proceeded with updating ALL packages. I even had it update the OS files too for safe measure. After a few minutes, it was completed. I restarted the Pi to make sure everything was fully ready, then tried to play another game. The Achievement list is still "broken" as far as descriptions go, and now my Key Combo to toggle on the RetroArch Menu is broken too. I can ENTER the menus, but I can't return back into the game. I have to back completely out to the main menu and select "RESUME". Before, all I had to do was my combo press (BACK+GUIDE on Xbox360 controller) to switch between the menu and the game. The other key combos seem to work (at least the BACK+B to reset and BACK+START to exit the game).

So what gives? Was this new version not really ready for release yet? How do I get my old version back? I"m going to have to start all over again aren't I?

@hansolo77 about the RetroAchievements issue I can say: update RetroArch from source and you'll see some improvements.

Yes I just noticed that. More troubling now is getting back to the game with the same combo press.

i have this same issue. i've not investigated it yet but i presume it's a retroarch bug.

I have the same issue, where the Select+X combo will enter the rgui, but will not exit. Started immediately after updating to 4.1.

Here's to hoping 4.1.1 comes soon.

@HeyMrDeadMan It has nothing to do RetroPie updates. It's due to RetroArch recent changes. I think they are aware of it.

If the older version worked fine why did you update it? I'm running RetroPie v4.0.2 and it works perfectly for me so I won't update it. Maybe in the future I'll update just the N64 emu but that's it.

@PetroRie My main reason is this: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/4945/retroarch-is-now-fully-compatible-with-retroachievements

This is true for me as well... updated RetroPie because there is a new version and it's always a good idea to have the latesy version. And I updated RetroArch to the latest nightly because the RetroAchievements area is being actively worked on.

I noticed the same thing this morning during my play for the MAME ROW. I just updated to RetroPie 4.1.1 (2ceeb8a) to try to fix it. This definitely seems like a regression. I used to be able to press Select+X to get out of RGUI and get back into the game. I know it's not RetroPie's doing. It's also been reported over on GitHub thanks to dankcushions.
