PiFBA won't work with Dualshock 3
-
Hi - I just set up a RetroPie 4.1 image on my Pi 3, installed the Dualshock 3 driver and successfully paired over bluetooth, and it works well with all the emulators, except for PiFBA (using instead of default lr-fba-next because it won't load my neogeo roms) -
PiFBA loads the games normally but will not recognize any input from the controller, and the only way I have to back out to emulationstation is to plug in a keyboard and hit escape. Wired gamepads work with it, but I'd like to use the Dualshock 3. I've looked at the fba2x.txt file and it looks properly configured for the standard jtest values, although I've done nothing to edit it yet.
Any clue on what is the hang up?

Yes, using a buggy emulator discontinued 6 years ago instead of fixing your roms/bioses by searching "fba 0.2.97.39 romset" on google seems like the right thing to do.

@segaprophet I have stopped using PiFBA completely. There is no reason to use it as there are so many benefits in using the libretro versions. It emulates over 8000 titles as opposed to 684 games together with all the controller mappings. I am not sure that PiFBA is even being updated. lr-fba-next works just fine with neogeo roms. If you are having issues, you have the wrong romset according to the wiki here: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/FinalBurn-Alpha
I can't imagine that it would be easy to get the same level of compatibility that libretro offers. I mean, until recently, player 2 was disabled by default on the keyboard and that cost me hours until @meleu fixed it. In fact, it's the only issue I have ever had! It offered great performance on a Pi Zero and ultra snappy performance on my Pi 3 but it lacks shader support and almost every other feature that you can imagine. -
@rbaker gotcha, FBA is now working with a v0.2.97.39 romset and the Dualshock. Thanks.
