limelight experimental package not recognizing PC
-
Hi guys,
I installed the experimental limelight package to see if I could stream some steam games from my PC to the TV over my retropie setup.
Hardware:
Pi 3 with the latest retropie update (4.1)
PC: Windows 10 Pro Version 1607
Intel i5
Geforce GTX 960 (updated drivers)So I installed the package and it did the search for a PC (the retropie shows up as a network drive on my PC), and it recognized one of the PCs in the house but not my gaming PC.
When I then tried to run limelight from the main Retropie menu, it went black for a few seconds and then just returned me to the regular menu.
Any help with the setup would be welcome.
Thanks, -
I'm very interested in seeing if you can pull this off.

dont use the one in the experimental list. just remove that one and chk out this page.
a little past half way down starts the easy instructions to install a better version for stream called "Moonlight"

@anasazi29 Thanks.
I opened that how-to and my first question is : How do I access the command line prompt? I know how to do it from a normal desktop (and I just installed Pixel thinking that would be my work around, but when I launch it, the screen goes black for a few seconds and then returns me to the Ports menu... another problem to be solved at a later time I think), but not from inside Retropie.

@trantornator If you are using a pre-setup retropie image, then all you have to do is click "Start" "Quit" and chose "Quit Emulationstation" ... done. You are now command line.
You do not need a desktop environment, like Pixel or anything like that to install moonlight or edit anything for Retropie.
