      Greetings all,

I've been tinkering with RetroPie for some 4 days with a pretty consistent problem. The very first time I tried installing and booting RetroPie [from the .img file available from the downloads page] everything seemed to be fine. I was able to boot in and I fumbled around using my wireless keyboard. However, after rebooting the Pi started up with a distorted screen. Mostly static purple vertical lines and pink flickering lines and dots with a low resolution, like 640x800.

      Screen Distortion

I tried a few other times with varying success but always getting this issue in the end, either after rebooting or right from the start. I figured I'd try with BerryBoot to see if it was the img file causing this distortion but sadly, after booting into it for the first time, the distortion is present. Although, it appears as though I've got a more complete version of the OS using BerryBoot.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? It seems to be only happening when I'm installing RetroPie as I was able to get Raspbian to work with no problems after a few reboots.

      Thanks so much!

      I'm using Raspberry Pi 2B.
