I was wondering what is the best way to shut down this device after a usage? Should I just unplug the powercord or actually go to menu, quit, shut down? Does it make a difference? Similar for in game, is there an option to shut down?

Also, is it necessary to have a usb keyboard? i realized I ran into some trouble with having to press esc... but other than that, I haven't ran into any other trouble...

        Disco!

You risk corrupting your SD card otherwise.

It's not absolutely necessary, but I would highly recommend keeping one handy for maintenance.
