I've been using my RP2 retropie setup on a 19in Dell monitor for 1.5 years now with no problem. HDMI to VGA adapter. I just moved my setup to my 55" TV and now I have terrible controller lag and the rainbow icon comes up more than 50% of the time now in the upper right corner. I switched my video to Game mode and that helped the response but not perfectly and the rainbow is still there. I've been using a 2.0A output rated adapter. Does this all mean that I need a more powerful power adapter to run the RP2 on my HDTV?

@tmar89 The very 1st thing I would do is try a different PSU. Just to rule it out. 2A should be enough for a Pi2 but if you have something with 2.5A I would go with that. Also, use a hard wired PSU rather than a plug and USB cable combo. Some cables just aren't up to it.
