I am running RetroPie v4.1 on RPi3.
Using wireless PS3 controllers.Manage to setup most of controller configuration for Reicast, except 'Left Analog' stick.
Please share your PS3 controller configuration for Reicast, if it's working for you.
Thank you.
Do you want the left analog stick to function as analog or digital like the D pad?
-
@batesman
Wish to set up the Left Analog stick as an analog stick.There are some games like MDK2 that require an analog stick control. I manage to setup D-Pad and it's working fine.
Although I have include these in the config file, couldn't get it to work properly.
axis_x = 0
axis_y = 1Currently, it can go one direction along the axis.
What did I miss?

Unless I'm mistaken, MK2 is digital with a stick, not analog. I think you'll find what you're looking for under retropie setup, configuration tools, (804) Configedit, Configure basic libretro emulator options, <configure default options for all emulators OR select reicast to only change options for it>, then finally select the option that lets you use the analog sticks as d pads in the menu.
-
I think MDK2 uses both d-pad and analog stick.
-
There is a script to generate a config file for Reicast:
/opt/retropie/emulators/reicast/bin/reicast-joyconfigNot sure if you used that... but it lets you map everything including analog stick.
-
@Concat Have tried that. Actually the above configuration is derived using the script.
Btw, I have tried the "Input Configuration" under the EmulationStation menu too.
Although the button mappings are slightly different, it is still the same.Is anyone using PS3 DS3 controller on Reicast (Dreamcast)?
Is it a limitation for this emulator? Or have I messed the configuration? =P -
I believe there is an auto config for reicast too. Try turning that off in autoconf?
I am using ds3 controller.
-
@Concat
Think have turned off the AutoConfig.ini, for Reicast.
Will check later.The analog stick is ok for Mupen64plus (n64).
so i believe my controller is working fine.Btw, could you post your PS3 Configuration? =)
-
@Concat
Have checked autoconf.cfg.
reicast_input = "0" -
Anyone?

Appreciate that someone could post their PS3 wireless controller configuration if left analog stick is working in Reicast.
-
Updated 1st post.
Appreciate if someone could share their working PS3 controller configuration.
Thank you. -

Hey man, sorry... I will try to find time tonight.I don't play a ton of Dreamcast, so I have to make sure my PS3 controller still works perfectly. I've been using arcade controls when doing most of my own testing.

@darkblaster77 Sorry, I don't have an answer for you. How does yours compare to the one here https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Dreamcast ?
I feel your pain, though. I can't get a single button to work with my ps4 controller. There was one combination of settings that got the dpad working, but generally nothing.
