      hey guys

      I am able to use everything great on my raspberry pi 3. I installed retropie 4.1 and found some preset shaders that look great BUT if you leave a game or an emulator , you have to set it again for another emulator AND when you reboot the settings go back to normal. so how do I get the shader i want to stay as the default when retropie starts up?

      thanks

        @Zoilus You edit the retroarch config file as described in https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Shaders-and-Smoothing. So....

        You should try enabling a shader for all lr- emulators by using

        video_shader = "/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/shader/arcade-bezel-shader/crt-pi.glslp"

          @Zoilus Also you need video_shader_enable = "true"

            Assuming you're in the RetroArch menu, it's simple. Select shader and back out to the Quick Menu, select Save Core Overrides.

            That's always worked for me.

            If you want the same shader for each core, I believe you'll have to go into the Configuration setup. My pi just froze, so I can't do a step by step at the moment. :(

                @rbaker and @rsimmy ...both methods worked! thanks guys!

                So for anybody else who looks at this:

                rsimmy's saving to core overrides seems to work for each while @rbaker method works for all...however you can take that script and use it for each core individually if you want to script it in to each one with whatever core you want, which of course takes time. but if you're going to do that, then just do rsimmy's method

                so rbaker method for global
                and rsimmy method for each one

                and either method sticks after reboot
