Switching emulator in RetroPie 4.1?
-
Hi everyone,
Maybe this is a silly question, but I have tried everything in my power. What's the correct way to switch emulator for a system?
I would like to try some alternatives for the SNES, but everything I try it ends all the time running the snes9x. I read somewhere that you are supposed to keep pressing the X button when the game is booting, but this seems to be ineffective.
Any idea?
Thanks!

When a game is launched, you'll see the runcommand launch window for a few seconds. During this time, you can press any keyboard key to invoke the menu where the default emulator can be set. Alternatively, you can press whatever the first button is on your controller as well. It may not be immediately obvious which button is seen as being first, as it's really up to the controller's manufacturer. It should also be noted that this only works with what the system sees as being the first controller, so you may have to rearrange the USB order to get it to work properly.

This is really odd. I think I understand what you mean when you say launch window. Is it like a yellowish small box at the center of the screen? I think I saw it for a couple of times when I first installed the RetroPie but now it's not there anymore :\

Thanks, this makes a lot of sense.
It never occurred to me that Runcommand was the actual component responsable for running the games. I'll check when I'll be back home from work, but it sounds reasonable.
If I would have landed on that wiki page I would have saved myself a lot of headache :)
Thanks

@BuZz i tried but it said i needed at least one tag and i didnt know what that meant

@Windall where it says it there is a text box (under the edit box) for entering a tag. A tag is like a keyword to describe your post. eg
controller
for a controller related post (you can use multiple tags).
