      Hi all,

      this is my configuration :

      Raspberry Pi Zero
      Premade image of Retropie 4.1
SD Sandisk Ultra Imaging Micro SDHC I 32GB Class (10)

      Does mame4all support save state?

Running mame4all and pressing tab, in menu i can't find Load State and Save State, it is not supported?

      Thanks

      Marco

          @Marcone698 ok, ok.....
          https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

Type "Mame4All Save states" into Google....

          https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=71620&p=517202

I don't use Mame4all as it is not a libretro based emulator so I have no idea if it works or not.

I have already read all post with this topic and the only one it's the one that you have linked, unfortunately F7 and shift F7 doesn't work and in "tab" menu the two line to select hotkey for save state (F7 and Shift F7 - load and save state) are missing, however thans for your support and please tell me why you suggest me to readthe post https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first, what did I do wrong?

If you mean the second post in this one i have asked if all people use another mame emulator or nobody use save state anyway sorry.

@Marcone698 said in Retropie Mame4all and savestate:

              what did I do wrong

Nothing that I am aware of.

unfortunately F7 and shift F7 doesn't work and in "tab" menu

If you want to try it, press Left Shift-F7 and any key to save a state, and F7 and the key you previously pressed to load a state. This way you can save more than one state. However, don't expect all games to work properly with this. You need an STA folder in the mame root directory. But, I have not tried this on Mame4All as I don't use save states. Then there is this. Since mame4all is very old, it is likely not to support it. I have tested it on a windows version of MAME and it works as described. TAB is not required.

tell me why you suggest me to readthe post

It provides guidance, for example you don't say what you did. You simply state " i can't find Load State and Save State, it is not supported?" But you then post "I have already read all post with this topic and the only one it's the one that you have linked, unfortunately F7 and shift F7 doesn't work". Had you said that already, I would not have wasted my time suggesting it. In the https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first it asks for list of things, one of which is Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide) You followed the one I linked before I linked it yet you didn't mention it thus wasting time. Had you done so, I would have said "did you assign the key after" as described above? the https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first is there to prevent this scenario. That is why I suggest you read it.

@rbaker I already tried with F7 + any key or ShiftF7 + any key, doesn't work, the sav folder, of corse, is present.

I start to think simply save state it is not supported by mame4all.

Last thing, i have some problem to write correctly in English so I do what I can, sometimes it's not enough, anyway before post this discussion, I assure you, i have tried alone for one week to solve the problem, i have read here and in whole internet lot of msgs but 99% of info was about normal mame (not mame4all) and in normal mame (that i use in my real arcade cabinet) works perfectly and in effect the tab menu (contrary to mame4all) has the two line load state and save state present.
At this point I ask the moderators to close this topic, 90% of topic is out of topic and doesn't help anyone sorry.
