      Hi there,

I've just finished building my first functional arcade with retropie and emulationsystem, and everything seems to be working correctly! Well.. Kinda...
I am using a reyann usb zero delay connected to the raspberry pi. I've got a two player setup, witch includes one controller and 6 buttons each.
I am easily able to setup the controller via the emulation station controller setup. but when it comes to the buttons it will only let me assign the "A" button.
The other buttons simply says "Not defined" when I try to assign them. I can assign ANY of my buttons to "A" but none of them to anything else.
I have tried updating everything on the PI, regarding the controls, but it does not help.

Have I connected the buttons incorrectly? Im not sure, since it is possible to assign them all to something! That must mean that, the PI gets a signal from each button right?

I'am having a hard time telling, what could be wrong, so I hope that some of you in here might have an idea.

      Thanks in Advance,

(I've tried searching the web and this forum with no result, so I hope, someone will be able to help me out)

My guess is you probably wired the button incorrectly. That's why it will said "Not defined"

Try plug in the usb controller with your joystick and test it in windows OS and see if the buttons get any response.

Thanks! I will try that when I get home today. However, the buttons are wired exactly the same as the joystick, and I am, as mentioned, able to configure every button I choose to the "A" map in emulation station. As well as I am able to do that for the LT button.. It's weird.

However. Let me test it and return! Thanks!

So, well.. When I connect it to my windows PC it recognises the controller, and mapping is possible.
When I re-connect it to the raspberry pi 3, and start emulation station, it's still only possible to map the joystick and the "A" button inside emulation station.

Do you think I need to do it manually in the config file?
Or maybe have any other advice?

@berqen What mapping you did in windows? Can you test the usb game controller?

1)type 'set up usb game controller' in the search bar.
              2)select properties of the controller
3)Make sure every single button light up with you press it.

Ok, thank you for your fast response! I have solved the issue now! I found out that I was an idiot.. I'd installed the wires on the buttons wrong, which led me to believe that they were working, as they showed up. Tested it put with another wirering today, and it worked.

                Thanks a lot anyway!
