      I cannot seem to download the first installation for retropie!
      Safari says over 8 hours to download and firefox fails after downloading 256mb.
      Is there a fix for this please?

        It's your internet. I just downloaded the entire file in less than 5 minutes.

            If you don't mind me asking, where are you located?

            I think some locations in the world have issues downloading. I don't know why. I'm in the States.

                @co88y 8 mins this time. On a 100Mbit connection, 86 down at the moment. Varies for me between 3-10mins. Worse was 15mins once. I have seen reports of slow downloads elsewhere in the world - I am in the UK.

                  @backstander Im in the UK - Kent. Never had mega quick internet.
                  I've restarted and tried again. Up to 307.4mb and its stopped!

                  I'll try your link. File is only .011 mb - is that right?? how does this work? Sorry - I'm a noob to all of this.

                  I'm using a mac if that makes any difference?

                    Yes but you will also need a BitTorrent client. I've never tried using one on a Mac so I can't recommend one but here's the wikipedia page for BitTorrent:
