Hi all, sorry this is my first post having just got a pi3 with toms 128gb image.

I bought the setup Pre built and originally it booted up in to attract mode and my controller could be seen but no buttons were mapped properly in the menu, and roms weren't responding to the game pad.

I pressed a button and now it boots in to emulation station, which I actually prefer but the snes USB game pads are not recognised at all so I can't do anything at all.

Not really sure what I need to do, as I can't access any menus or anything. ? Any tips would be gratefully received!

@messer This is an unsupported 3rd-party build which has probably got many custom configs and the like.

Also, if you bought this pre-built, then you've been had. RetroPie is free, and the selling of it is against copywrite. I'd advise going back to whoever you bought it off so they can fix their mess, or start with a fresh install of the official build from the RetroPie site.

Thanks, I bought it 2nd hand, not just an image of retropie but a pi3 model b wth a couple of game pads and power supply.

I read the retropie pages and I see that a grey box is supposed to come up saying game pad detected but I don't see this. Also, I have no idea how to even get in to any of the system as nothing responds it just goes straight through to emulation station?

I see posts of people going through all sorts of configurations, but I don't know how I even get there as the controllers don't respond to any commands at all..

@messer I'd advise downloading a new image from the RetroPie site and starting fresh, then you know what's setup and configured and the forum will be better placed to help.

            At the minute, we can't.
