So...I have two control blocks and am building a 4 player cabinet. Players 1 & 2 will have 6 buttons, 3 & 4 will have 4 buttons plus the respective coin/select and player/start buttons. All 4 players will have an 8 way joystick. I will likely also make an "exit" button which presses start/select at the same time.

In addition to that, I'm going to flush mount 4 USB ports on the front of the cabinet for N64 games (GoldenEye). I understand there is a way that I can tell the system to use the USB ports for emulators, is that correct?

Also, I want to add a trackball, which is also USB. Is there a way to add a 5th USB port? I'm using a Pi3. Could I use a USB splitter maybe?

Nobody? I don't want to spend $100 on a trackball of it isn't going to work...

You can add more ports with a USB hub.
