I am trying to add ScummVM to my attract mode setup.

Currently, I am using the following emulators setup config:
      executable /opt/retropie/emulators/scummvm/bin/scummvm
      arguments -f -p [rompath][name] [name]
      rom url /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/scummvm
      extension .svm

This config is getting scummvm to show in my emulators, i even have snaps and wheel art working for the two titles I am trying to launch.

My problem is from here, when i select a game, It does not launch, I see some error script (cant view it because it is underneath attract mode) and it comes back to the wheel menu with my two games.

I'd even settle for a way to launch scumm-vm from attract mode, the same way it launches in ES. If anyone can point me in that direction, that would be great too.

I should note, both games work fine when launched through scummvm in ES.

      Thanks!

I have the exact same problem, so I guess we'll have to wait for a upcoming attract mode update

i think i have it working with my attract version, but can't check as i'm at work.

If i remember correctly i do not call the emulator directly but use the run command system not certain would need to check but it works fine for me with my modification and i have latest attract version installed.

If you want to be able to launch the script to start scummvm edit your config to include *.sh and *.SH and make sure you still have the launchscript in your scummvm roms directory. Could be if you are using a predefined rom list (like in motion blue) that you need to add the entry manually to the romlist for the sh file. If your not using some predefined romlist manually you could let it generate a new rom list once you added *.sh and *.sh. But i did not do that works fine with svm files here

Install attractmode from retropie-setup and it sets this up automatically. (Backup first).

Ok, so I found the problem. Apparently the game folder needs to have the same name as the .svm file. Now I can load the games in Attract Mode. In Emulationstation this was never a problem.

@brigane did you have any issues with controls? my joystick works in emulationstation, but when I got things set up in attract mode and start a game, the joystick and buttons don't do anything.

Did you configure the controls in attract mode? You can do that by pressing "TAB" button on your keyboard.
