Need help with adding n64 texture packs.
-
Im trying to follow this tutorial: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Optimization-for-Nintendo-64 for adding high reslolution texture packs to retropie (esp mario 64) i added the texture pack in the right directory, but when the script asks to make the necessary changes in the mupen64plus.cfg im stuck.
Enable hi-resolution texture file loading
LoadHiResTextures = Falsedoesnt exist in my config even so i have launched mario with rice already
and even so i can edit the line
Use high-resolution texture packs if available.
txHiresEnable = Falseit doesnt make a difference if set to true and also resets itself after each reboot of the pi.
Can someone help me?
I'm using the latest retropie on an raspberry pi 3

Same issue,
I modify /opt/retropie/configs/n64/mupen64plus.cfg file.
I change
txHiresEnable = False
to
txHiresEnable = True
but file /opt/retropie/configs/n64/mupen64plus.cfg are always overwritten with txHiresEnable = False
Everything worked well in January 2017 before an update.
Can someone help us?
Thanks in advance.

I'm actually having the same issue. Hi res packs were working in Mario 64, Star Fox, and both Zeldas.

I have been able to get the High Rez textures working in OOT under Rice by just adding the Rice line to the end of my cfg file (and making sure I have a Rice texture pack) - but the Lens of Truth doesn't work under Rice and for whatever reason my GLide plugin bugs out after about 10 minutes every single time.
Haven't tried Mario (though I installed the texture pack the same way, just haven't tried to play).

@liquidzoo Man. I still haven't been able to get this to work again like it was about 2 months ago. You added the Rice config line to mupen64plus.cfg right?
-
@hooperre Yes. I added this to the very bottom of my mupen64plus.cfg file:
[Video-Rice] LoadHiResTextures = True
