HELP!!! Osoyoo 3.5" TFT Touchscreen with Retropie NOT Working!
-
Hello,
This is an issue many previously have had, however I am determined for this to work.
I have a Raspberry Pi 2 and a Osoyoo (Kedei) 3.5" TFT touchscreen (version 6.2). It is one of the cheapest on eBay and as
expected, does not come with much information, therefore I have surfed the internet looking for answers.Link to product: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-5-LCD-Touch-Screen-Display-Module-w-Case-for-Raspberry-Pi2-Pi3-Pi-3-Model-B-/351802332204?hash=item51e90d942c
Firstly, let me explain what I have done:
For my first two attempts, I thought that as the special Raspbian works with the screen that Retropie would if it is installed on top of it.
Attempt 1:
Installed Osoyoo's special Raspbian which works fine.
Attempted to update it, making the screen not workAttempt 2:
Installed Osoyoo's special Raspbian which works fine.
Installed Retropie which displays loading screen (logo)
Touchscreen goes black, normal monitor displays RetropieAttempt 3:
Installed Retropie
Installed drivers (v6.1.3 for v6.1,v6.2,v6.3) (http://kedei.net/raspberry/raspberry.html)
Used this tutorial: https://github.com/jgamblin/OsoYooTFT
Retropie displays loading screen (logo)
Touchscreen goes black, normal monitor displays RetropieAttempt 4:
Attempted to use Adafruit's Running OpenGL-based Games & Emulators on Adafruit PiTFT Displays (https://learn.adafruit.com/running-opengl-based-games-and-emulators-on-adafruit-pitft-displays/pitft-setup)
Got stuck with:
Code: Select all
sudo bash pitft-fbcp.sh
(It couldn't find the file or directory)Attempt 5:
Installed Retropie
Attempted to use some Chinese driver install tutorial
Short story is that it didn't workI am a novice with Linux, however if I am prepared to try anything at this point. I know the screen has a rubbish refresh rate and is not good for this type of thing, but if someone can help that would be AMAZING!!!
What I want to know:
-I have seen videos of it working, but is it possible I can get it working?
-Framebuffer is a solution to this, but how do I do it?
-Can someone provide a simple step by step instruction on how to do this? :D :D :D :D :DAs well, I have heard that people SSH to their Raspberry Pi. I don't know how to set this up on Windows 10 if it is required to get this to work.
For anyone who can help, I thank you. This has been a huge learning experience.
