Bluetooth Joypad not working

Hi guys,
I am using pi3 model b on latest version with my Bluetooth s600. I map the controller fine from boot and can use it in all menus but when I get to the emulators it doesn't seem to work and my keyboard takes over. I noticed in the megadrive emulator if I press a few keys it will change the state slot so it's obviously still seeing it. Going into retro arch and trying to load settings just says no info and won't let me back out of that screen and I have to pull the power, it also says no core in the bottom left. Any ideas ?

@Rudy if you get no info it is triggered by pressing the select button. Just press the select button again to get out of it. Right shift is select on the keyboard if you need that one.

I get it when I press enter on my keyboard and literally no button takes me out of there. Surely there's a way for all the emulators to take the config from my initial emulation station welcome page gamepad map ?
