NES Metroid ROM lag...Anyone experience the same?
-
Just wondering if anyone else experiences the slow down of Metroid when there is 3 or more enemies near. It makes the game so much harder to play because the input response is not fast enough to either shoot or jump out of the way to begin with. I'm using an RP3 and checked that the FPS never dips below 59fps. I've also tried using the NES30 Pro controller as a USB plugin instead of Bluetooth. Do you think this is hardware or software related?

@Kaveman42 that's how the original game was. It's the limitations of the original nes.

Ahh gotcha. Thanks, it was driving me nuts. I even tried it on my PC and noticed the same thing. Any idea if the NES classic does the same thing or did they fix some of that stuff when they converted it to 1080?

I haven't tried it, but it's likely to be the same. Outside of an epilepsy fix to reduce flashing, no one has reported any differences in how Nintendo's emulator presents the games.

You can easily overclock it in the emulator. I use lr-fceumm for this purpose.

I noticed the same thing when Sbake Man launch those little snakes in Mega Man 3. This is the same on the original hardware.
