Hi everyone. I have a problem with lr-fbalpha emulator. My snes buffalo controller works totally fine with the snes, and pifba emulator to play my ROMs. But for some reason, the controller is not recognized when I am trying to play roms with the lf-fbalpha emulator. From my understanding, the lr-fbalpha uses the same controller settings as retroarch, so I am not too sure what is going on. The controller is already set up properly with retroarch.

How do I got about fixing this? Thanks.

@kousuke open up /opt/retropie/configs/fba/retroarch.cfg and see if there is a ton of config stuff in it. If there is, delete the file and reinstall lr-fbalpha

@kousuke go into the retropie menu, go to retropie setup. In there choose update retropie-setup. Then choose manage packages, manage main packages, then choose 217 lr-fbalpha, X remove, yes, then update from binary

@kousuke do you have joystick selection installed in the retropie menu? If so look under fba and see what is set as the controller in there. If there is a controller or it is set to disabled just set it to unset.

@kousuke if you go into the retropie menu in emulationstation you should see joystick select with all the other settings. If it isnt there, go into the runcommand in that list and enable it. Then you can actually assign your controller to fba forcing it to use your controller. If that doesnt work, in lr-fbalpha if you hit the tab key it might give you an options menu. If so you can probably assign the keys in there.

i'm still convinced lr-fbalpha isn't being run, and instead it's pifba. is lr-fbalpha set as the default emulator for fba? you can check via the runcommand. if you change it, check that it stays that way by checking again after.

@dankcushions forcing my snes controller to be player 1 works in the emulator now but the I can no longer start game from the snes controller anymore. I have to use the keyboard to start it.

@edmaul69 I went to configure edit, configure basic libretro emulator options, configure additional options for fba, choose joypad order, and 0 for my snes controller.
