SCPH1001.BIN not recognized
-
Hi,
I am trying to figure out the PSX emulator on my retropie3 and I think I'm almost getting there. scph5500.bin
scph5502.bin and scph5503.bin are in the Bios folder and all seems fine and recognized now I only have to take care of SCPH1001.BIN (checksum ok) and I've read everywhere that the file was case sensitive so I renamed it scph1001.bin, apparently does not belong in the Bios folder (when I tried to drag it there I got the message: Your file does not seem to be a supported Bios) so I dragged and dropped it with the retropie manager in the rom folder, uploads ok and then I can see the file. But I still get the message:
This system requires one or more bios file that are missing from your installation:
SCPH1001.BIN
it's really incredibly frustrating. Any ideas what to do next?
Thanks for your time -

you renamed it to the wrong case. see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/#bios

Also, it is recommended to use newer bios, since that 1001 is the original one from 1994 I think. If you get something like 5xxx, 7xxx, 9xxx or 100 series one, they would be more compatible with some games.

@dankcushions Fixed it and tried again:
SCPH1001.BIN > Bios folder > Your file does not seem to be a supported BiosWhat I really don't understand is why does that file name doesn't even appear with the other greyed out names when I check the Bios folder on the Retropie Manager.

retropie manager isn't official - you should ask here: https://github.com/botolo78/RetroPie-Manager
the supported ways of transferring BIOS/roms are here: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Transferring-Roms/
