First off, I should make it very clear that I am not a developer by any means & I'm not very familiar with the Retropie at all. I know a little more about computers than the average person, but that's about the extent of it.

So I was playing a GBA game the other day & used the in-game save option to save my game. I was able to play off that save all the way up until I rebooted my system. Now, those saves are nowhere to be found. The SRM files are showing in the same folders that the game is in, but I can't access it from the Pi. Can anyone help me, please?

I've tried Googling this issue & have found some solutions that people claim to work but what I've found does not work for me. I've seen a lot about Retroarch, but I don't even know what that is or how to use it. I'm very interested in learning everything that I can about all this if anyone knows of any complete courses on it & computers in general. Thanks in advance.

I have a the Raspberry Pi 3b model & please let me know of any additional information you may need.

you should read and fill out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first first

        until I rebooted my system

can you go into more details here? how are you getting from the game, to rebooting the system?

the save is only written to disk when the game is exited cleanly (start + select)
