[Solved]Mupen64plus.cfg file overriding changes
-
Fresh Install of RetroPie 4.3 all cores updated as of yesterday
/opt/retropie/configs/n64/Mupen64plus.cfg
Dualshock 4 ControllerSo this is the default button mapping:
#Digital button configuration mappings DPad R = "hat(0 Right)" DPad L = "hat(0 Left)" DPad D = "hat(0 Down)" DPad U = "hat(0 Up)" Start = "button(9)" Z Trig = "button(6)" B Button = "button(3)" A Button = "button(2)" C Button R = "axis(2+)" C Button L = "axis(2-)" C Button D = "button(1) axis(5+)" C Button U = "button(0) axis(5-)" R Trig = "button(5)" L Trig = "button(4)" Mempak switch = "button(10)" Rumblepak switch = "button(11)"
The C buttons trigger two buttons (a common problem noted in the past). I also prefer to change by A and B buttons to the X and O DS4 buttons, respectively. For whatever reason, when I change the button layout in the .cfg, and then launch an n64 game (I'm using Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball with Rice plugin), it will reset my configuration and the buttons will all be reset. Is anyone else having this issue? Reminds me of when the hi-res textures was resetting every time you launched a game. I'm in the states and it's Thanksgiving today, so I'll do what I can, but it might not be quick! I wanted to add a transfer pak rom pathway and see if that's cleared out as well but didn't have time.

i believe it's the InputAutoCfg.ini that you want to change. i think it populates (overwrites) the input part of mupen64plus.cfg whenever a game is run.
