Help Connecting 8bitdo NES30 Pro Controller
-
@edmaul69 Mine definitely does not do that. Sorry to hear about the controller. I have been at this 2 hours.
-
@norbit2 thats odd. Everone i have ever done for me and my friends did this.
-
@edmaul69 http://download.8bitdo.com/Manual/Controller/N30pro+F30pro/N30pro+F30pro_Manual_V4.pdf.
Here is the latest instructions for what I have.
-
@norbit2 the android mode is probably the correct one for the pi. Definitely not the windows mode. On the plus side, i took my controller apart, pulled off the joystick cap and put it back on correctly and its fine. :)
-
@norbit2 the android mode is the same as what i was doing. Just follow those instructions.
-
@edmaul69 I have tried every mode. Not work. Something is wrong with the pie or programing I assume.
-
@norbit2 did you try just holding the sync for 3 seconds then just letting go if it doesnt flash purple?
-
@norbit2 Are you sure you didn't disable the onboard Bluetooth on the PI ? You could try the 'old' method by using hcitool scan to see the discoverable devices from the CLI https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Bluetooth-Controller and https://blog.petrockblock.com/forums/topic/8bitdo-bluetooth-controller-setup-retropie-v3/.
-
@edmaul69 No purple
-
@norbit2 just ignore the purple. After holding for three seconds let go and see if you get blinking blue lights.
-
@mitu When I type hcitool scan I get "Device is not available: No such device"
-
@norbit2 Have you tried with sudo hcitool just to make sure you have enough rights. sudo hciconfig -a should list the available BT adapters.
EDIT: can you post the output from dmesg on a site like pastebin.com to see what's you system like ? -
@mitu What am I looking for with the sudo hcitool ? with sudo hciconfig -a nothing happens. How do I post the output from dmesg. There is WAY to much to type...
-
@norbit2 For the dmesg output execute:
dmesg | nc termbin.com 9999
and paste the URL that you get.
For the other commands,hcitool scan
should show you the bluetooth devices nearby, see the 2nd link I gave above. -
@mitu When I type hcitool scan I get Device is not available: No such device
Do I type exactly this in: dmesg | nc termbin.com 9999
If so how do I type this line: |
This is my first time typing code. lol. Sorry if I am slow.
-
@norbit2 | is the 'pipe symbol', it should be on a standard keyboard http://compujurist.com/2014/10/30/how-to-insert-a-vertical-pipe-symbol-using-your-keyboard/.
-
-
@norbit2 It doesn't look like your BT is disabled, so I'm not sure at this point why the pairing doesn't work.
-
@mitu I have no idea what to do. My laptop computer finds them within 5 seconds.
-
@norbit2 the pairing on the pi takes longer to find them. So you need to put it into android pairing mode right before you scan for it
