how do you download retropie on an already installed raspbian OS

@mediamogul Thanks for your help, so I guess all i need is a card reader, which comes with the kit and a flash drive?
And im just curious is there any other emulator for Raspbian or not really?

RetroPie is actually not an emulator, but rather a series of scripts and software to facilitate the installation and execution of a wide selection on individual emulators and ported games. Two alternatives that share a somewhat similar type of functionality that RetroPie offers for the Raspberry Pi are Recalbox and Lakka.

I'm somewhat unfamiliar with NOOBS, but it exists to supposedly be simple, so I assume that after you've used it's setup process to install the Jesse image I linked to above, you could then use these instructions to install RetroPie on top. If you decide to simply flash the official RetroPie image found here, the information is detailed fully in the official RetroPie installation guide.

Flashing an official RetroPie image will overwrite anything already there. However, you may have to use your PC/Mac to format the SD card before starting over with NOOBS.

Videos are often rife with inaccuracies and outdated information. The specifics of RetroPie change often enough to make them obsolete very quickly. It's always best to stick with the official documentation for everything. I've never installed anything with NOOBS before, so it could be that formatting the card might be necessary before starting over from scratch. You'll want to check their own official documentation to be sure.

If RetroPie is the only thing you're trying to put on your Pi, I would recommend the step-by-step instructions found in the RetroPie installation guide. After that, you'll be blasting centipedes and rescuing princesses in no time.

@mediamogul Ok thanks for helping, So when i put the the retropie sd image on the MicroSD card and put it into the raspberry pi 3 it wont cause any corruptions or anything and it will just overwrite everything?
Also if i wanted in the future will i be able to add raspbian, and does it come with the image?

RetroPie is not it's own operating system and is actually installed on top of Raspbian already with the image you'll be using for the Raspberry Pi. To keep the overhead down, the RetroPie image makes use of Raspbian Lite, which is really only missing the desktop GUI that so many people associate with a standard operating system. However, the desktop environment can always be installed later from the RetroPie-Setup once everything's up and running.

, the only difference is mine will already have raspbian on it but it will overwrite it like you said? -

I installed raspbian through noobs, and through researching i found that i cant download retropie unless i re format the card and install retro pie. And doing this will it automatically overwrite my current OS(raspbian) or?

Please try and refrain from asking the same question in multiple threads. As stated earlier, you have a few options available to you and it seemed like you felt most comfortable flashing the official image from scratch. In doing that, it will indeed overwrite whatever was on the card previously.

@mediamogul i did everything and it worked, thank you but, by mistake my ps4 controller was connected to thr ps4 when i plugged it into the raspberry pi and i tried to turn the ps4 off while retropi was on configuration screen. So when i click any button nothing happens now? Also my keyboard and mouse wont work.
