Wiimote

that dont work either.. im very confused here. there has to be an easier way

@edmaul69 Did you sync the Wiimote to your DolphinBar?
-
@bgallagherla yes. It is synced to the dolphinbar. Not synced to Bluetooth at all.

I followed the advice in this thread last night to get Advmame 1.4 working for a few gun games with my Dolphin bar.
I did have problems mapping the buttons in the “Tab” menu. If you are still having trouble make sure you edit the input settings for All Games and not just “This Game”. For some reason I was not able to change any button assignments under the “This Game” options.
Maybe that will help.

No matter what I do, I can't get the motion to work. I have it synced to the dolphin bar but only the directional pad works. Is there a cfg file somewhere that needs to be edited at all?
-
@kmetz7547 what emulator are you using? I had trouble getting Buttons to work but motion picked up as if it was a mouse immediately.
-
@chuckyp also make sure you are in mode 2 (Mouse Mode). You can select it from the wii bar or press the Home button and Left on the directional Pad of the Wiimote.

@chuckyp
I'm using advmame 1.4.
I'm also using someone else's image (neopi from arcadepunks)
I put it in mode 2 and get no motion, just the direction d pad works.. this is driving me crazy. I'm about to return the dolphin bar and invest in the Amtrak gun -
@kmetz7547 I doubt it’s the bar. If it’s a 3rd Party configuration they could have set specific controller types or other locked input configs. Hard to troubleshoot a symptom when there are so many unknowns like that. If you have a spare SD Card you could do a fresh install of RetroPie and drop a few ROMs in and see.
It may be the romset version that is being used is wrong. Each MAME release is tied to a specific romset. It literally works like magic when the correct elements come together. It’s quite a “Rabbit Hole” to dive into if you aren’t familiar with it. But MAME is an exact science for the most part.
EDIT: I also have an AimTrack and it has its own issues. You need to calibrate each time a new user plays. And widescreen monitors playing 4:3 games get confused on what the screen limits are if you don’t calibrate correctly. The advantage being you don’t need the Crosshair visible as it is accurate enough with the sight on the gun. But Wiimote is much more user friendly.

Posting logs is essential to troubleshooting something like this.

I tried a fresh build of motion blue v6. And it works like u described.
My question is what settings could be limiting the use of a light gun in my premade build from arcade punks site. Also realize that my favorites folder doesn't save the rims when the pi is rebooted.. there is limitations set somewhere that now is bothering me since I spent weeks adding roms and setting this thing up -
@kmetz7547 3rd party images aren't supported. We don't know what was altered. Troubleshooting a crappy 3rd party image will be an endless struggle.

@Darksavior I know this is an old old post, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the tip about mode 2! Completely different experience this way - it is properly usable! 👍
