Variable Governor not set in the wiki for Odroid XU4 - Performance Issue
-
Please update the instructions to set the governor variable in the wiki for Odroid XU4 below:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Odroid-XU4
I could download an image for Retropie odroid XU4 on the site below and edit the file boot.ini
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/15861/ora-retropie-image-for-the-odroid-xu4
The boot.ini has the following values and documentation for the governor variable:
--- CPU Governor Setup ---
Uncomment only one line. New governor is set after 90secs after boot.
------------------------------------------
- Performance (Keep all the CPU's at Maximum frequency)
setenv governor "performance"
------------------------------------------
- Ondemand
setenv governor "ondemand"
------------------------------------------
- Interactive (Pretty much just like ondemand with more possible customization via sysfs.)
setenv governor "interactive"
------------------------------------------
- Conservative (Like ondemand, but do the frequency transitions more slowly, great for battery powered applications)
setenv governor "conservative"
------------------------------------------
- Powersave (Keeps the CPU's to the lowest possible temps)
setenv governor "powersave"
I think, the documentation should mention a default value for good or best performance. As joolswills mentioned in the issue opened by me in Github:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/issues/2350

As previously noted by BuZz (joolswills), the wiki is user editable. Help in keeping the documentation as informative as possible is always appreciated.

Hey Media, do you need permission to edit a Wiki or just an account? What steps do you need to take? I have to be honest I have never done a Wiki edit even though I use it almost daily but I do make financial contributions annually. I made a contribution one year and now every year about the same time they ask for donations...spamming for a week or so! :) Have a great Easter if it applies and I hope to make a dash to see Ready Player One if time permits being a holiday weekend and all it might not pan out.

You just need an account. After that it's just a matter of logging in, clicking the 'Edit' link and then saving when done.

It surely does and same to you. May all your eggs be prize eggs.

Some friends and I are going tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it. Here's hoping it's half as good as the book.

Thanks Media for the information. It's church in the morning and they also do communion on the first Sunday of the month. Not to mention the Pastor gets a little long winded but it's all good. Brunch after...maybe...maybe Ready Player One after that if the wife is willing. I am trying to pull it-would-be-a-great-Easter-gift card. Looking for that prize egg! The initial reviews seem mostly positive for Ready Player One.

I really liked it. The film deviates from the book in sooo many ways for the sake of brevity, but it still feels like 'Ready Player One' at every turn. Something I was pleased to discovery that I didn't consider was the musical score done by Alan Silvestri. While the movie is a visual treat of pop culture references, the score manages to weave in music cues from many other properties as well and it's done in a very thoughtful way. It's not so much that you'll see a Star Wars character reference and immediately get a Star Wars music cue, but rather when moments occur that might organically evoke a strong feeling of fantasy, you may get a subtle little bit of the theme from Stephen Spielberg's Amazing Stories. All very well done.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
