                @koogelpotato What package is it? It sounds like the power supply isn't providing enough voltage.

                also, do you have anything plugged into the USB ports besides a keyboard?

                    @koogelpotato If the monitor is being powered by the Pi then either the monitor is needing too much power or your power supply isn't powerful enough.

                      @thedatacereal meaning that I have to get a better power supply.Also if I attach rechargeable batteries will it help?

                        @koogelpotato The Pi needs 5v give or take 5%. 4.75 to 5.25V basically. Adding extra voltage runs a risk of damage. Make sure your power supply is 5.1v 2.5a.

                        Was it an official kit or just something on eBay? Many generic power supplies do not provide necessary requirements even though they are labeled as such.

                        Also, what kind of monitor is it?
