@Steve_C78 which shaders? which specific emulators? please fill out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first including verbose log

      please read https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Shaders-and-Smoothing/

overlays + shaders compound the performance drain, so may not be feasible for all games. reducing resolution will help performance but reduce fidelity such that scanline shaders look awful, for example.

if you're seeing the thermometer icon, your pi is overheating and reducing internal clocks to reduce the temperature. fans/better case will at least allow it to throw as much power as it can at your config.

      Hi Guys.
This might be more complicated than expected. I have read something about autoconfig, but I think it doesn´t fit this case.
So, right now I am trying Plan B which is made a .cfg file for each 3 button game to override retroarch.cfg and have a 3 button game config.
Now the hard part of this is to find a list with all the 3 button games, or at least to able to filter down my roms to know which ones are "3 button game"
but so far I haven´t been able to find a list or find a method to filter down my romset.
Just the museum arcade have an advanced search with 3 button layout option, but it only show me 150 results .
      Any idea?

RetroPie - on the Pi models - doesn't use the desktop at all and it runs as a dedicated application (EmulationStation) from the console. If you want to use your Pi4 as a desktop enabled computer, perhaps it would be better to use Raspberry Pi OS and install the same emulators that RetroPie uses and run them standalone.
You can start RetroPie from the desktop environment, but it's not a supported configuration and not something we recommend.

In emulation station go to raspi config..look for display and you can set all consoles to play full screen or whatever size screen you want

@IanDaemon said in Need to delete collections for systems i don't want:

If you're using a "pre-made" or "pre-loaded" system then you're going to have a REAL hard time finding anyone that can help you.

      "Help" posted above :)

@IanDaemon said in Need to delete collections for systems i don't want:

Add ROM, see system. If there are no ROMs in the folder you won't see the system in the carousel.

P.S. Roms list in Carousel and Collections are 2 different things.

      @MartyH1988

First try to follow all these steps (all of them from the top!):
      https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Wifi/

Then to transfer roms over the network follow these steps:
      https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Transferring-Roms/#samba-shares

Make sure you place the roms in the right folders! Read the documentation. For example for the SNES:
      https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Super-Nintendo-Entertainment-System/#roms

If you cant find the network share, perhaps try this way of accessing your pi through SFTP.
      https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Transferring-Roms/#sftp

I've been unable to connect to the network share on my pi. For me it turned out I'm having a problem that windows 10 had certain group policies disabled that blocked the share. The fix was explained here. Though, I didnt like the idea of leaving insecure policies open, so I decided to transfer roms with SFTP. Or alternatively, using an old windows 7 laptop, which could access the share.

I don't think super glue would work because if it heats up anything over "kinda hot" it melts and starts to smell awful. Another bad glue to use is that stuff you use on fake fingernails. Smells bad without any heat or anything. It has toxic fumes. I once tried to attach a fan to a motor shaft with it. I turned the fan on and it started to blow a cloud of basically poison into the air. It was like hitting a wall. I started coughing, my lungs were burning, my eyes were watering, the whole nine yards. So yeah. If you need to fix your Pi with glue, hot glue is the way the go.

@XionXero said in Controller Help Needed:

Just got my Raspberry Pi 3+ and a preloaded flash drive from amazon.

So, you don't use the official Retropie image? Third party images are not supported here, because they may differ from the official one and thus, may have problems which the official doesn't. If you haven't installed the official image, you should do so. (But don't forget to backup any data that you don't want to lose before that!)

Furthermore, if you bought Retropie, it's illegal and you were cheated by the seller, because the Retropie license forbids selling of any kind.

Sorry to put it that bluntly, but it is like it is. If you're already using the official image, just ignore this post. 😌

@mitu sorry, must have read too quickly. I was thinking one credit per each time the emulator is started, and then drop a credit when the game exits.
