      Hi

The relevant information to my configuration:
      System: Pi 3B
RetroPie: Version 4.4 as pre made SD image downloaded on May 26th 2018 (retropie-4.4-rpi2_rpi3.img.gz)
Emulationsstation: updated from source on June 13th 2018 (because of the problem which happened also before the update)
      Theme: Carbon with no modifications
USB Devices connected: USB keyboard and mouse
Controller used: Picade = joystick and buttons as keyboard
Error messages received: none (even with emulationstation -debug)
Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log: no error (no game started)

I have a problem with long game descriptions not scrolling correctly in ES detailed mode.

      • this happens with several games with several systems, always with rather long texts

What happens: the text is displayed and scrolls to some point in the description and no further. It does not come back to the beginning (scrolls only one time).

      • if I press the left arrow to go to another system (also detailed view) and then right to come back, then it is displayed and scrolled correctly, but it doesn't come back to the beginning at the end (it scrolls only one time)

Not really random, it really looks like a systematic bug - or do I do something wrong?

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Thanks and regards
      Patrick

PS: I am stunned by the complexity of Retropie, but also very impressed by the features and the quality of it. That's an incredible piece of open source software (integrating many incredible emulators)

OK, nobody answers but I got the solution by asking on GitHub:

The power saving modes (other than "disabled") are not compatible with scrolling description text

So disabling power saving solved my text scrolling problem.

I hope this will help others to.

        Regards
        Patrick

PS: how can I mark this topic as "solved" or "closed"?

@paf To mark it solved, go to your initial posting, and look where it says reply, quote . Next to that are three dots above each other. Press that, and select edit, and you can change the title.

Man thank you! This bugged me for a long time and I always thought it is something with the Emulation Station Themes and just kinda ignored it. Many thanks posting the solution, you helped me at this point.
