@OneSwitch Awesome! Have you released this game with any specific license?

@markwkidd - this remake is freeware. The author, David Main, gave his blessings for the remake. The art work is okay to use with it so long as no profit is made.

@OneSwitch That is awesome to hear, I wish more developers would give their blessing like that!

I do still wish there were a license with it even if it is a homemade freeware license. In 5 or 10 years if/when atariage is offline, and David Main (who I do not know) is retired to the jungles of Hawaii and unreachable, it would be better if there were a clear license.

I say this from experience -- there is a lot of great homebrew that is already 5-10-15 years old now whose authors are gone and which can't be hosted on any site in the United States, other than by that one institution with a congressional DMCA exemption, due to there being no clear license. :(

@markwkidd I mentioned that site here and got dinged for it, apparently since it is only legit in the U.S. and this is an international forum, it isn't allowed. Makes sense though.

System Config: Retropie 4.4 with full desktop, RPi 3B, 256gb SD, 5v 2.1A 5,200 mAH USB battery. EasyMSX controller mounted with Pimoroni Hyperpixel 4 (non touch). Also running 4.6 on a 4gb Pi 4 serving as my primary desktop computer now.

@Cederick That looks great. Going to try that on a real NES, and then the Pi.

@John_RM_70 It's a fun little game for around 30 minutes up to 1h with 2 player support.
The same studio just finished a kickstarter campaign for their new game Micro Mages with 4 player support and a hard mode (coming out soon and not free)

Very nice post. Thanks on the list. I've bought the Sega Collection on Steam looking on a way to use that roms and I'm happy this is the case.

While we are on the subject of legit games, is there a way to play PSX games on the Pi from an actual game disc in a USB CD/DVD drive?

@VictimRLSH Not yet, there's an issue (with a bounty) for this to be implemented in RetroArch - https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/7245.

@mitu That sucks... Is it even possible to play a DVD in the Desktop using a media player?!?

@VictimRLSH you can install Kodi and use it as a media player, without the need to install the desktop. Should be able to play dvds.

@mitu Good, was thinking of using a spare Pi to make my wife a DVD player that will play UK region DVDs. Our actual one died last week. Does a Pi zero have enough CPU for that, or should I use the spare B+ I have?

@VictimRLSH Maybe opening a new topic would get more answers for this specific inquiry.

If none of the Retropie ROM games are legal or at least tons of them are over copyright then how is it even possible for companies to sell preloaded images in the UK and in the USA or even in the EU. There are a lot of bartop arcade selling company out there.

@zhajdu Roms itself aren't illegal to sell, if they got the license. But this thing is out of control and many are selling roms without a license. There are too many to fight against. If you kill one, 5 appear, it is almost impossible. Even famous pseudo-rapper tries this. In China is no thing such as copyright (is this correct?) and so the market is flooded with roms filled machines.

Besides this, there are still roms which are free. Some companies gave them free to use, some homebrew developer made games by its own and gave it free to the internet. And then there are roms you can buy and use legally in your emulator. But you are not allowed to sell them, as long as I know.

@zhajdu RetroPie does not come with any ROMs. The fact that some people sell systems preloaded with both RetroPie and ROM doesn't mean it's legal - see the episode @thelostsoul talked about in the (in this topic or anywhere else).
