Configure Bluetooth controller in RA
-
@mitu i suppose i did a stupid, but it only happens for like a second, goes away, and never comes back.
-
@mitu I got a new psu @ 2.5a. I used it, and never see the under-voltage sign. However, it did not fix the problem. Inside a game, I discovered that F1 doesn't work.

I've had some conflict issues like this before with my Xbox One Bluetooth.
Check your opt/retropie/config/[system name]/retroarch.cfg for these two input settings:
input_driver = "udev"
input_joypad_driver = "sdl2"Also, you might want to check out my post regarding Xbox One Bluetooth here:

@theretroprince to be clear, you want me to change it to those two input settings?
-
@TheBlueDragon Yes. Document your existing values, then change on one retroarch core config (retroarch.cfg) and then test on that core. If it doesn't work, you can simply switch back to your original values. But if it does work, you can then set the same values on other cores.
I had a similar issue on my setup where my keyboard and my Xbox One controller did not want to play nicely together in Retroarch. If my memory serves, this was the workaround.
-
@theretroprince Ok then, the retroarch.cfg was set to udev and udev, but I changed it to udev and sdl2, but I still have to test it out.
-
@theretroprince Ok,I tried changing the input drivers around (note: XBOX controller shows up as "Xinput Controller, but that's not a problem) For whatever reason, when I launch a SNES, my hotkeys don't work. F1 doesn't do anything, neither does using ctrl+a. Later, when I went in to the Hotkey section of RA gui, I found that whenever I change my hotkeys around, it doesn't save when I close the gui, and come back. Oddly enough, when a fired up a GBA game, the hotkeys DO work. Does anyone know how to fix my hotkey problem?
-
@TheBlueDragon Within Retroarch on your SNES core, check your "Settings/Configuration" menu to make sure that 'Save Configuration on Exit' is ON, then make your hotkey settings adjustments. Otherwise you have to save it manually.
-
@TheBlueDragon To save your keybindings, use the Core input remapping menu in RetroArch. I'd advise against using 'Save Conf on exit', this will re-write your RA.cfg and produce more confusion since the bindings will be saved only for the system (core) you're currently using.
-
@TheBlueDragon 100% agree with @mitu if it's just your key mappings. Remap files are the way to go. I thought you were referring to Hotkey Binds (Quit, Menu, Savestates, etc). Even then, you don't have to set the 'Save Configuration on Exit'. You can still save the configuration manually once you get it sorted out. (Configurations - Save Current Configuration)
I actually prefer to keep my configs confined to each core, but I certainly agree that it is not for everyone.
-
@theretroprince I am talking about hotkey and menu bindings, just to clarify.
-
@TheBlueDragon For those hotkeys, in the Retroarch Main Menu, go into Settings/Input/Input Hotkey Binds. Make your changes, then save your config. That should be all you need to do.
-
@theretroprince I solved the problem of Hotkeys not saving. All I had to do was cp the retroarch.cfg from configs/all to configs/snes. It looks like there was a problem individual core configs.
