@mitu - Yeah I can view individual accounts but not the banned page above you linked. It seems like a reasonable page to be able to view as you can see from the account they are banned. Maybe it's a permissions over site on the page or they only want certain people to view it.
The good is to see Grant may post because he really is a cornerstone in the Plus development and great troubleshooter. It's hard when all communication has to happen only through Github when there's such a great user base here.

Quite confusing to me. Kernel and boot options update required ??
I'd like to avoid a total system update; would destroy most of my customisations. -

NO! It doesn't fix it so don't try it. I already did.

If you heard of Mt. Rushmore I am close to that National Monument.
Not only I heard of but visited south dakota in summer 2005, driving from Yellowstone ;-)Landscapes in your area are marvellous, we stayed just a couple of days but were able to see Rushmore, Crazy horse memorial and Rapid city.
We've been also to Little Big Horn, Pine Ridge and Wounded knee. It's history that's generally little known in Europe. -
@UDb23 - What a small world you've been to my home state. I head out to that area often as it's close. It's hard to take it all in during one visit. Some of my favorites are the Badlands. The lighting of Mt. Rushmore at night. Gold panning I am really proficient at doing. Deadwood has an interesting culture too. They had a series based on it named Deadwood. Sylvan Lake is incredible like shown in the movies National Treasure. I like Custer State Lodge as many president's have stayed there and if you can get roadside next to a buffalo do it. They get so big your car door doesn't feel thick enough. Pretty amazing area and breath taking scenery.
-
@Riverstorm Your description make me wanting to plan another holiday in your region :-)
Buffalos btw do are really impressive; had one really big just passing nearby my car in Yellowstone. -
@UDb23 - Yeah they are very majestic up close and some are huge. A neat animal for sure. Another old movie filmed here was Dances With Wolves. If you're ever in the area again just let me know. They have some incredible wild life you can view from your car in the state park. They wander across the roads and you just stop and watch right where you're driving. Another really scenic drive is named the Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway that covers all the good stuff nicely. It's a nice scenic drive if you love nature. Some of the less aggressive animals you can get out and feed by hand but that's not many.
I think I might have a solution to fix our issue. Check out the thread as the option that was causing me lockups is listed their. I had to manually edit the core options config file.

Will surely do, thanks; and if you happen to travel to northern Italy let me know too :-)
Btw loved that movie.

Artwork completed for another vector game: Solar Quest
Backdrop+RA overlay + launching image.Original Backdrop is from MrDo; adapted to 1440x1080 game area (1080p) and tweaked colors for max visibility (you still can play with brightness in the .ART file).
Also removed the bezel that was included; nice full original bezel but it made the game area way to small !Instead I created an overlay that fits max game area in 1080p (1440x1080). Recreated the Bezel in vectors and used that art for the overlay. Score text was moved to right and left (again to avoid reducing game area on top).
Launching image is a vectorized version of the original marquee:
Available now in the Repo.
Have fun ! -
(sorry for low res pic) -
Best vector settings (to me):
Vector multiplier: 3
Antialias: enabled
Beam width: 2
Flicker:20
Intensity: 2.5Bilinear filtering: on
The game requires sound samples.

Looking forward to trying Solar Quest BD. That is one game where the busy BD and blue vector lines made the game visibility low so in AdvMAME I set the BD brightness really low.
-
@Udb23 - I'll give your vector settings a try too. I am finding monitor vs TV are completely different settings to look optimal so I've been experimenting.

Available now in the Repo.I don't see the backdrop in https://github.com/UDb23/rpie-ovl/tree/master/arcade/Solar Quest. Do I look in the wrong location?

@Riverstorm Yes, that's why I tweaked a while ;-)

Sorry for the late response, but I don't have much time for this at the moment.

Just download any pre-0.106 artwork (there's a dedicated section) from Mr. Do's website and copy it into your
/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003-plus/artwork
folder and run the game. No configuration required! Thanks for the tip, the files work ootb. But if one uses crt shaders (like I do), the bezels are crt shaded, too. Is there any (easy) way to exclude the bezels from being shaded?

@Clyde backdrop pull request done & accepted.
File is part of mame2003plus repository; check here.Great, how do I update the files in that directory on my Retropie?

@Clyde - I run a shader too and asked the same question. I didn't get a definite answer so I don't for sure but I didn't find a way. I do not like BD's with a shader either. =\
-
There is no way to avoid frontend shaders from affecting the core's built-in artwork display. To the frontend it is all essentially one image coming from the core with no distinction between layers or bezels.
This is one of the reasons it will be good to have backdrop support in RetroArch.
-
@Clyde just update mame2003 plus from source and it will install the latest backdrops.
or just copy the zip files to your Pi into the bios\mame2003plus\artwork folder.
