    hi there,

i got a raspberry 3B+ and installed it fresh after a crash of my SD Card.
So i got a new 64gb SD Card and installed retropi fresh.

everything is working fine but after i start a game with SNES or NES emulator
it just crashed back to the game overview screen of the emulator.

i googled it and did almost everything and followed tons of adviced. including new installation and checking Fat32 system etc.

is there anything i can do?
one year ago everything went fine with the controller / Display etc.

@w-wallace Looks like you are trying to launch an incorrect format. Can you give an example of a rom that doesn't launch? Where it was placed? What it's file extension is? Fill out the rest of the information here:

i used .nes files from a big NES archive and put them in the rom/nes folder on my raspberry.

retropie shows the game as an startable nes game.. but wont start it.
After starting.. the starting screen appears where i can configure the start.. after that blackscreen and returning to the nes folder where i could choose the game.

        this is the logentry:

        Parameters:
        Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-fceumm/fceumm_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/nes/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/nes/Super Mario Bros (E).nes" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg´

i use a power adapter with about 2-3A but tested other adapter aswell.
i use a 5" HDMI Display Panel without any problems..

its a 64gb micro SD Card from Sandisk

i also tried other games with SNES emulator.. but there its the same.. just starting the game and reswap to the initial screen where i could choose the game..

@w-wallace Can you enable verbose logging from the Runcommand launch menu and then post the log file (/dev/shm/runcommand.log) to pastebin.com ?

@w-wallace I don't see why the .nes file would not be working, but the zipped one does. RetroArch unzips the archive first, then runs the .nes file anyway. You log shows that you're running a FDS ROM, but you didn't have a BIOS - assuming you copied the correct BIOS file, show the verbose log again - with the error for launching a NES file.

ok i did a complett update of all core packages in between.. perhaps that fixes it.

so back again :) what happens to the retropie? once a few month ago it was very very user friendly just install and transfer roms.

now i got a really bad start with the new version 4.4 nothing seems to run anymore.. no kodi ( same problems i got initial with the NES roms ) no other emulators.. all got the same problems.. has there be a change in the versions? or why do i have that problem with the 4.4?
