Retroarch Integer Scale setting not saving
-
Hi there. I’m running RetroPie 4.3 on a modded Gameboy Zero. I’ve been trying to setup the snes video emulation via retroarch’s settings and I think I’m coming up against a bug?
I need to save a game’s specific retroarch settings and one of them involves setting the Integer Scale to OFF. This however refuses to save properly. Each time I reload, after initiating 'Save Game Overrides' the Integer Scale setting reverts to the console wide setting of ON.
Ive seen mention of this type of issue being a bug? Could someone tell me if this is the case and if so has it been fixed? Also, will updating Retropie via Retropie-Setup/Basic update and fix the version (1.6.7) of retroarch too?
Any advice much appreciated

At this time, your system is almost 3 years old (4.3 was released in Sept 2017), so it's a bit difficult to say if there was a bug with that version of RetroArch.
Updating would mean updating the RetroPie-Setup script, but from such an old version would be problematic. If you wish to update to the latest version, I'd suggest to start with a fresh 4.6 image.Regarding your problem, try using the RetroArch config hierarchy support in RetroPie and create a
<rom>.cfg
file with just that setting:video_scale_integer = "false" config_save_on_exit = "false"

@mitu Thanks a lot for your reply. I'm looking into updating to a fresh image. I just need to find out how to do it because the board's creator adds a few extras to run things like a battery indicator and safe shutdowns, which I don't want to mess up.
I've tried editing a custom retroarch config and adding those 2 lines but upon loading it still ignores them and turns on integer scale??
I'm not sure if it's relevant but when I add the lines in Retroarchs config menu it creates a file called Super Mario World.7z.cfg So with the zip extension. However I've also tried renaming the file without the zip extension and it's still not worked?
Any idea why the cfg file is being ignored?

If you're running a custom image, then we don't know how it was modified or configured from a stock RetroPie image.
