Pi Model or other hardware: Pi 4B, 8GB RAM
Power Supply used: https://www.okdo.com/p/okdo-multihead-pi-4-power-supply-5-1v-3a/
RetroPie Version Used: 4.6.7
Built From: retropie-buster-4.6-rpi4.img.gz
USB Devices connected: Dualshock 4 controller
Controller used: Dualshock 4 (works flawlessly on any other emulator)
Error messages received: None
Verbose log: No logs were created under /opt/retropie/emulators/amiberry/whdboot/save-data/Debugs
Guide used: https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/wiki/Kickstart-ROMs-(BIOS)
https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Amiga/
File: All WHDload Amiga games, /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/*.lha
Emulator: Amiberry v3.2 beta (2020-08-19)
Attachment of config files: https://pastebin.com/yUbvGDfN
How to replicate the problem:- Installed retropie-buster-4.6-rpi4.img.gz on a 16GB SD card for RPi4, verified installation
- Installed Amiberry from optionals
- Ran Retropie update and updated all packages
- Copied over AmigaForever roms into BIOS folder with filenames as seen on https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/wiki/Kickstart-ROMs-(BIOS) CRCs match, work flawlessly on FS-UAE and WinUAE
- Copied over multiple WHDload preinstalled Amiga games as .lha archives to roms/amiga
- Started amiberry and scanned for kickstart roms, checked that the symlinks were created correctly
- Tried starting any of the games through Emulationstation
- Amiberry starts, shows the typical Amiga booting until the floppy disk screen pops up, as seen here for example (exact same V1.3 one): https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oChk5gyobF4/TiWT_jgeEPI/AAAAAAAAAXU/nM2ISGGlPlg/s1600/bootsplash13.png
Nothing makes it proceed past this game on any of the WHDload preinstalled games I tried.

THIS. I get the same exact behavior when I try to use Amiberry with WHDLoad. Did the exact same steps, and I get the same screen, nothing loading...!!!
This is the only post I could find about this. Can anyone help us? -
@Kryomaani have the roms and games all got full read/write permissions? This is something I've had to do in the past to get them working.
-
@BadFurDay As far as I cant tell, yes. I'll check again...
.ADF files run perfectly, direct from Emulation Station... so I don't think is a permissions issue. Anyway, double-checking. -
I have the exact same problem and when I try to start a LHA file via "Quickstart" in Amiberry it works correctly with the A1200.
Could it be a problem with Emulationstation passing the LHA file and the configuration to open to Amiberry?
I have the Raspberry Pi 3b+, RetroPie 4.6 and Amiberry installed via source.
-
I will look into it.

I use Attract Mode on the Pi 4 with no issues, if it is a problem with Emulationstation then my suggestion won't be of any help.

Works fine here. If you updated just amiberry without updating RetroPie-Setup you may have issues due to command line argument changes.
That's the only thing I can think of.

You mean that we need to update RetroPie-Setup via "Update RetroPie-Setup script" and then run the "Update (from source)" for Amiberry?
I have the lastest version of RetroPie, 4.6, burned few days ago to a blank SD with the official image.
emulator.cfg says:
amiberry = "/opt/retropie/emulators/amiberry/amiberry.sh auto %ROM%" default = "amiberry" amiberry-a500 = "/opt/retropie/emulators/amiberry/amiberry.sh rp-a500.uae %ROM%" amiberry-a1200 = "/opt/retropie/emulators/amiberry/amiberry.sh rp-a1200.uae %ROM%"
Edit: Running the two commands above right now.
Done. It works! -
EXACTLY, THAT WAS IT!!! Thanks!!!!!

Usually it's best to use the full update from RetroPie-Setup. If you want to update a single emulator it's always a good idea to update the script first, else you can end up with a binary that doesn't match the helper scripts etc. In this case the launch script that passes the parameters.

@BuZz thank you.
BuZz can you also take a look at the "general" thread of Amiberry?
I'm finding that games runs a little faster then normal, I made a video about that. If you want I can make more of them. Thanks. -
