thanks for your reply. I've looked trough every single one of the docs and i have already followed those steps. I don't understand.

Like i mention before i have working snes games and a few atari but the n64 and nes are not showing. The filename on n64 is .z64 which from i understand is a correct file type?

@yyx2 Please add a screenshot with the file listing of your NES or N64 game rom folders and some details about your system, as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

You skipped the most important question. What image did you use to build this system?

                  and

also it is only showing 28 games on mega drive, and i have 700 games on the usb

Did you configure the system to read roms from the USB directly? If not, you need to copy them to your SD card.

It would help to show the complete path of roms. Since Linux use a case-sensitive file system, if you use, for example "NES" instead of "nes", it might be a problem.

Which USB are we talking about ? You haven't specified how you transfer your files, the screenshots you've posted don't show where these files are located (macOS finder is special like that), but it doesn't seem you're transferring them to your RetroPie via file shares.

As long as you're not mixing the case (NeS, nES), you're fine.

okey, let's see. what is meaning with image?

The usb part i've configure to read roms trough the usb. I followed the steps where i first add some roms to the sd card, then transfered them to the usb. i don't know if you understand what i mean, but i hope you do.

How exactly did you install RetroPie ? Did you use the file provided at retropie.org.uk/download (.img.gz) or other methods/files ?

Use the Finder to transfer your files, over the network, and leave the USB alone for now - see the file transfer method using file shares.
