My son and I have been having a blast with the NES and SNES Emulators and are looking to revisit the fun we both had rockin' out to Guitar Hero - specifically Guitar Hero 2. I have the .iso file but am unsure how to go about setting up the Guitar. We've long since thrashed ours, but cheap replacements area pretty easy to find. I've also know that a PS2 Controller socket to usb is pretty cheap and easy to find. Is it possible to make this all work with RetroPie? If so, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@mackrellr ps2 emulation is a pipe dream. We barely have n64 working.

I haven't tried it out, so I can't speak for it being user friendly or how the quality is, however, you can try Frets on Fire (FoFix). You can add this to the experimental menu of the RetroPie Setup by installing the ZeroJay Extras:

        https://github.com/zerojay/RetroPie-Extra/blob/master/README.md

Though, strangely, I don't see it listed there, so maybe it was graduated to the experimental menu recently.

If not, the above link tells you how to install the extras.

You may be able to use limelight to stream the beefier consoles from your PC to your RPI.

@mackrellr like @3lric said above, FoFiX is the way to achiev what you want, but I never tried to execute it on my raspberry pi. I've just googled about it and didn't find any success case. Only promises...

I'm just posting this because I was used to spend some time with Guitar Hero's (1, 2, 3, Metallica) songs in FoFiX in my Linux PC some years ago (~2009). So, if you google enough, you'll find some packages with these songs to play with Frets on Fire.

This FoFix is very interesting. I might not ever get 'The Monkeys: Rock Band', but this could be the next best thing.
