M3U File Issue [PS1]
-
Issue; While playing Syphon Filter 2, there's a moment where you need to switch to disc 2, when doing so an error (From the game's ui) appears saying "Wrong Disc Inserted"
Steps to reproduce:
- Load Game (Syphon Filter 2 Disk 1)
- Load Save File
- Game prompts you to switch disk
- Open retroarch menu > Disk Control > Eject Disk > Switch Disk 2 > Close Tray
- "Wrong Disc Inserted"
Raspberry: Pi4 B
Power Supply used: Generic 5V
RetroPie Version Used; 4.7.1
Built From: Retropie Website
USB Devices connected: 1 USB CONTROLLER
Controller used: Xbox 360 Controller
Emulator: lr-pcsx_rearmedNotes:
I'm using a m3u approach
Folder Structure:- Syphon Filter II (DISC 1).CD1 - Syphon Filter II (DISC 2).CD2 - Syphon Filter II (DISC 1).bin - Syphon Filter II (DISC 2).bin - Syphon Filter II (USA).m3u
M3U File:
Syphon Filter II (DISC 1).CD1 Syphon Filter II (DISC 2).CD2
Cue File disk 1:
FILE "Syphon Filter II (DISC 1).bin" BINARY TRACK 01 MODE2/2352 INDEX 01 00:00:00
Cue File disk 2:
FILE "Syphon Filter II (DISC 2).bin" BINARY TRACK 01 MODE2/2352 INDEX 01 00:00:00
Weirdly enough if i switch disks before loading my save, the message doesn't appear and it continues the game.

After you create the m3u file, did you change the save file name? It must be the same with the .m3u file

@windg
Howdy, that's correct the extension is m3u
I tested another game (Metal Gear Solid) and that one works fine, trying to play a new game on disc 2 asks for disc 1, i do the swap, press start and the game starts normallyFor Syphon Filter 2 i've seen that it doesn't prompt you to press start it just reads the disc automatically after the swap.
I'm wondering if there's something wrong with my .cues or the bin itself, if someone has Syphon Filter 2 let me know if the disk swap works

@przzz27 I have complete Syphon Filter 2 in the past and i dont remember to have problem with the disk swapping. If you can upload the save file i can test it again.

I test it with lr-pscx-rearmed emulator and i have the same problem. If i choose to start the game from disk 2 it will load fine. So you don't have problem with your files. I have see this again but i don't remember the game :P. Don't worry is a minor problem, lr-pscx-rearmed is very good emulator and it never fail me with multi disk games ( i have test a lot).By the way i test and the lr-duckdtation and here the problem doesn't exist.

@windg
Alrighty! I'll keep playing normally, i'll install duckstation just to see it working
Thanks!Additional notes:
I installed the duckstation core, i tried playing the game there and swapping discs works perfectly, although it doesn't recognize the CD1 or CD2 extension i had to rename them as .cue files again and change the m3u to reflect the changes
